Essex Disc Golf Events for 2006

The Essex Winter Happy Huck Tournament

Format
Singles stroke play
3 x short 9 course
1 x full 18 course

Tournament Fee's
This event is a "Bring a Prize" tournament, the prize has to be of a reasonable standard and something you know a fellow disc golfer would appreciate.

Optional Side Action
£2 Ace Pot, the winner is the player with the only ace or the most aces, if 2 players end up with the same amount of aces, we shall play a CTP for the pot, one player will win the pot.
£2 Metal Pot, the winner is the player with the most basket metal hits from their drives, for this event a metal hit is anywhere on the basket, pole or chains, same rule applies for determining the winner as the Ace Pot.
If nobody wins either the pots, the money will be donated to the 2007 British Open

Timing
0930 - 1000 = Registration
1000 = Players meeting
1030 = 3 straight rounds on the short course start
1200 - 1330 = Lunch at the SU bar
1330 = Players meeting
1345 = 1 round on full 18
1600 = Prize giving and everybody wins

Additional information
The Players meeting will take place at the Visitors Car Park for both meetings.

The prize giving will be that the first placed player gets to choose out of all the prizes first, then the second place and on and on until everyone has a prize.

Format
3 x 18 holes for all players
Final 9 for top 5 Open and Amateur Divisions

Tournament Fee
£10 for Adults
£5 for Students, Juniors, Unwaged or Rookie's.

Please add £2 to the above fees if not a PDGA or BDGA Touring Member.
Juniors are players 16 or under on 1st Jan 2006
Rookies are new players at their first tournament.

1330 Tee off: Open Final
1500 Prize giving

Trophies will be awarded to divisional winners. There will also be prizes for "Spirit of the Game", "Amateur CTP", "Open CTP", "Womens CTP", "Most Lake OB's". Depending on the number of players we will pay out the top third of each division.

Food & Facilities
The campus is well appointed with toilets, shops, water, bars, food outlets and cover if it rains.

Lunches will not be offered for the Essex Spring Fling and players are advised to make their own arrangements.

Tournament central will be by the lake and main campus area of the University. Parking is free during the Saturday and Sunday.

Accommodation
Due to the time of year, we cannot offer any campus accommodation. There are however numerous Hotels, Bed & Breakfasts in the area. There is also the Wivenhoe House Hotel on campus grounds and a camp site situated just off the A12 as you enter Colchester central. Players are advised to make their own arrangements.
